From Dream House to Dream House: Jerry did it again! When my husband and I purchased our house seven years ago, we were looking for a dream house, a place in which to live, work and raise a family, a first and only home. Jerry Sandler helped us find that home at what seemed, to us, lightning speed, in that we found the perfect place after a relatively small number of visits to a few select properties. On our first trip out, we knew that Jerry had asked the right questions and that he had listened to our responses. Jerry presented us with a house which had everything we were looking for, a great mix of vintage and modern finishes and even more space than we thought was in our budget at the time.
While we were not interested in the property’s potential resale, Jerry had, nonetheless, taken this into account when he found us our first dream house. Over the course of the years in which we lived there and began to raise our family, we saw how Jerry’s expert knowledge of the Toronto real estate market informed his selection of our home. The neighborhood in which we lived soon became a “hot” area, and the value of home increased dramatically in the years we lived there.
Selling a home was a new experience for us, and we came to admire Jerry’s spirit and determination on the ‘selling side.’ Jerry attracts good people. And, no sooner than we had given him the word, he had assembled a team of experts to help us ready our home for sale quickly and efficiently. Remaining sensitive to the needs of a family with small children and to our attachment to our first dream home, Jerry and his team prepared and presented our house for sale in a professional and personable manner. The advertising of the property was expert and extensive. Jerry was always available to respond to our questions and concerns about the interest or buzz surrounding the property. And he expressed nothing but excitement about the sale of the home, holding an open house each weekend until the property was sold. Of course, with Jerry as our agent, it did not take long to receive that magic “offer.” And it was a joy to see Jerry negotiating with the buyer’s agent to assure that we got the best of offers, and at a price point much higher than we had originally anticipated. Jerry Sandler is a real estate salesperson who definitely stands out FAR above the rest! I decided to list my house in January 2009, which was a very tough market. Jerry went out of his way with numerous open houses, a stunning marketing brochure and relentless follow-ups to potential clients to get my house sold. I was very pleased with the final price and extremely impressed with how he managed his relationships with the potential buyers. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better…Jerry got me my “dream home”! Two years ago Jerry Sandler approached my wife and me with the offer of a free, no-obligation offer of an evaluation of our property (in S. Rosedale). Although we had turned down similar offers and told him that we had no intention of selling, somehow we agreed to his proposal. We expected a brief and cursory presentation but instead got one that was careful, thorough and professional. An extended and very useful discussion followed. We were so favourably impressed by Mr. Sandler's knowledge and efforts that when we decided to sell a month ago, he was the only one we called despite the repeated advice of friends to call at least three agents.

Our confidence was not misplaced. His energy, organization and strategy resulted in the sale of our house at a very good price within 5 days. Then he found a highly satisfactory condo for our son a few days later. He has since been helping us with a search for a condo for ourselves, no easy task. Throughout this time he has kept in touch with us regularly to let us know what was happening. I've told him that his specialty is "managing and soothing the anxious clients". For instance, his office just called to offer us help and advice with the packing for any impending move; it's evidence of the very efficient team that works with him.

My encounter with Jerry started in an unusual way. I visited 25 Sword Street with my wife on the occasion of an open house. We were looking for possible premises for a business friend to rent.

By the time we were leaving Jerry had persuaded me: 1) this could be an excellent investment property for me; 2) interest rates would probably not be as low again for mortgage purposes; 3) the property was competitively priced; 4) he could find me a tenant.

Over the next two months, Jerry helped make all of the above happen. The administration of the purchase went very smoothly. Potential problems like insurance and retaining an exiting tenant all disappeared.
